At parc with Sickly talking about Virgil hate. I bought Figures of Speech before he passed. I go through it sometimes and am still shocked at how much he contributed to fashion and hip hop culture. Fuck everyone who says Virgil is corny. They never made the WTT or Yeezus or the Luv is Rage 2 or the LLA cover...

I was supposed to hit with the wall earlier buttt i got the last roll of film back from true/false so i sat down and did not get up until i made this post. Shooting film is so annoying sometimes because i had to finish and develop three separate rolls to get all my scans from that weekend😭 maybe its a skill issue and i shouldnt have shot over 3 different rolls on 2 cameras

Wall hitting is so fire when it’s not too hot. I be cooking in that box when its over 80

I got woken up at like 1:30am by Colin coming in through the back door and i have not been able to go back to sleep.

For some reason it’s unbearably cold. Weather app says 19 but feels like 7. Looking through these pics Ryan took of us at Coopers a few weeks back over True/False weekend when it was hella nice out. I was munching on a Penn Station sandwich #shoutout Penn Station lemonade and fries. Also shoutout Ryan, these pics are exactly how i want to remember this day. Miss my friends already, it was so nice being together. Been a while since we were all in como.

The writing on Marcy Me is peak. Never understood why people my age sleep on jay-z. I remember seeing a tweet from a 20 something year old questioning how jay-z sells records or who even be buying them. Then i saw a tweet under that talking about how The Blueprint came out on 9/11/2001 and people still left the house and went to Best Buy to buy that shit under threat of a terrorist attack.

 Watched this today. It led my thoughts back to what i wrote recently about the importance of gear



This guy was doing ny street photo on digital. Bernie OG came up to him and said he’s ‘not a real photographer’ because he doesnt shoot film. (valid take). When the uploader was rebutting, he said something like, ‘it’s the photographer that makes the images, not the camera.’ Made me think about what i wrote about Hiromix and the Big Mini.

Missing my Konica Big Mini. It ‘died’ back in July when i dropped it at Materia. It still kind of works sometimes but it eats my film. It was such a good camera. I replaced it with a Pentax Espio Mini, which is arguably a ‘better’ point and shoot, but i really miss holding the Big Mini. It had some kind of je ne se quoi... the build is so shitty and a lot of them fail for no reason (granted it is like 30 year old tech), but there was just something about it. 

Now it just sits on my side table as ‘decor’

Watched Wuthering Heights. Im hip on the adaptation whitewashing discourse but it was shot well and the sets and score were pretty. Whole theater was white girls and they were sobbing and sniffling by the end it was kind of comical

 Finished Entourage... incredible show. Has its fair share of issues like being shallow at times and retcon and some seasons tanking and some characters not feeling fully developed, but its a fun watch. Fun time capsule of pre influencer 2000s Hollywood. Also has an incredible soundtrack. Recommend to anyone who likes celebrities and is okay with the political incorrectness and misogyny of the aughts, like sex and the city or scream queens. All shows merely reflecting the times

Its like Jazz Club and Tobacco Vanille and By The Fireplace... it reminds me of some taxi rides ive had that smell like cigarette smoke stuck in cloth upholstery. And its phenomenal. I need a full bottle, maybe ill get one after i finish Exit The King. Ive been wearing Jazz Club since my mom got me the MM replica set for my birthday in 2020. Theres nothing wrong with it, i just think i smell it on too many art students and my individuality complex is suffering

Thursday January 15 2026 9:33amI was talking to my parents about movies when i was home for Christmas. My dad told me to watch Highest 2 Lowest and my mom told me to watch The Age of Innocence, saying color was used well. I watched both but i havent been able to stop thinking about The Age of Innocence. It was too raw

Scorsese said Age is his ‘most violent film.’ Theres no blood or actual violence but i have to agree... the confines and boxes made by society blah blah blah but its facts

God this movie made me feel things. The food scenes, dissolves, sweeping camera work, and iris shots (made me think of AHS coven lmao) were top. Set design and all the material objects and rooms and lavish things were so excellent. All the mise en scene made for an immersive setting of 1870s high society... theyre richer than God and theres like not a single poor person in this movie. The central conflict and basically the whole plot (to have Newland’s problem) was a privilege in itself lol

I think Age is pretty underrated. Also the opening opera scene reminded me that i should finish Goethe’s Faust

My biggest beef is listing chalamet last. Mf has awesome style and taste in literally everything. Hes definitely someone i look to for that kind of stuff. Like yes i was already going to buy the 990v5s and then the 990v4s and the vivienne bones choker (rep!) and the cpfm cudi entergalactic hoodie (real.. unfortunately) (resale hurt) the prada re-nylon (rep!) but he gave me a sense of confidence in my purchases. I know, i can be too influenced by parasocial relationships. But who else am i supposed to look up to and bite from, if not celebrities who have no clue i exist

Kind of on the topic of MJ, Maria has been stuck in my head. Going off that, i think abel is the closest thing to MJ today. To give Bieber credit, he sounds pretty close to MJ right at the end of Maria, but i think DD solidifies that spot. I have a whole list on my notes app from last year when i was debating myself on this topic. I need a hobby probably but i do think the weeknd sounds like him on Valerie and these other songs

Saturday November 22 2025 5:23pm Ive been into 2010s nostalgia recently. Been listening to Thank Me Later and Take Care tracks like Practice and Make Me Proud. Cece’s Interlude makes me sad because i think Drake is too famous now to make something as simple as that again. Also been listening to Miguel. All I Want Is You and Kaleidoscope Dream are some amazing albums. I feel like Miguel and Abel were two of the last genuinely solid contemporary r&b artists of the 2010s.


I always used to skip Lotus Flower Bomb when it came on Pandora. It took me a minute to get around to it. Listened to it so many times today. Amazing song, very nostalgic, even if that nostalgia is hating it at first because i misjudged it as a 10 year old. Maybe one of the most romantic rap beats ever. If i was Solange and this was written about me, i would probably never feel anything close to this ever again.

I miss being a kid and finding all this music on internet radio. My parents listened to a lot of stuff but never really listened to anything r&b. The most r&b album they played around me was Sade’s Soldier of Love. But that is a really good album. It was fun to discover that i liked rap music and Drake was basically the coolest guy on Earth to me at this time. Shoutout Pandora. 

I got to first hand experience the peak of so many artist careers and watch their decline. #backintheday day people used to think Wale was next up. I havent heard too much from him outside of Ambition. Zain sent me Attention Deficit the other day and 90210 is a pretty awesome track. Wish i listened to it when it came out so i could have that nostalgia factor. The way things make me feel has always been more important to me than how objectively ‘good’ they are. I hate listening to music or watching movies with the purpose of ‘conquering’ or deeply understanding them if i dont care about them otherwise, like i was required to for film and art and lit classes at Mizzou. If it sucks im turning it off. Sorry cameron winter. This also applies to food like i love a hole in the wall. Last year my guncles took me to a restaurant in Denver with a star and they served the most whack food ever. They even brought out a pigeon which they called ‘squab’ but wallahi they just took that shit off the street. “Zero waste” Michelin star restaurant = paying $250 a head to eat dead birds from the side of the road. Whole time i was googling where the nearest Mcdonalds was...

Factoring in nostalgia makes me wonder how ‘good’ the music in the 2010’s actually was. I wanna say everything was objectively better. Not that it matters. I rarely listen to any newer r&b artists. I wish i did. It doesnt feel the same, the beats arent there. Gone are the days of A&R and labels being relevant and artists like Aaliyah and Brandy who got their start in church choirs. Anyone with garageband and meta ads could be up next.

Anyways. This is my first post on this stream of consciousness blog. I write bullshit like this all the time on other outlets. Ig stories, my notes app, in my performative Moleskine. But i guess im expanding my digital footprint today for better or worse. Hope some of the things i end up writing about on here give you a new perspective or something to hate on or gawk at or be slightly entertained by. I have some bad takes and whack opinions so its okay to think im crazy. But youre on my website and youre reading this, so you must care what i think at least a little.
